Located in the Mediterranean Sea, the Maltese archipelago basically consists of three islands, Malta, Gozo and Comino. The total population is about 366,000 and have a total land area of 316km2. They are characterized by hot dry summers and mild wet winters.

Malta is approximately 3 hours from London and 1-1/4 hours from Rome, 2-1/2 hours from Paris, 2-1/2 hours from Frankfurt, 3 hours from Amsterdam and 2-1/2 hours from Cairo. Sicily is 3 - 6 hours sailing time from Malta, depending on the type of craft used.

One of the assets of the Maltese Islands is that they are accessible from the world's major cities. Just south of Sicily, Malta is only a few hours flying time from European capitals and enjoys connecting flights to long-haul destinations.
